Abstract

In this work we present preliminary results about fabrication and electro-optic characterization of organic solar cells based on blend of the conjugated polymer poly(3-hexylthiophene) and the fullerene derivate 1-(3-methoxycarbonyl)-propyl-1-1-phenyl-(6,6) C61 (PCBM). Final layer structure is ITO/PEDOT: PSS/P3HT: PCBM/Al. Active layer of the fabricated devices was deposited from solutions in chlorobenzene with two different concentrations (2% and 4% wt), and dried at various temperatures (25 degrees C and 150 degrees C). All the samples have been fabricated with a 1:1 ratio between P3HT:PCBM materials. Devices have been characterized as-cast and after an annealing treatment. Device parameters such as short circuit current, open circuit voltage, fill factor and efficiency have been extracted from these measures.
