Abstract

Local transparency in Spain has been analysed mainly in large municipalities and not in all autonomous regions. From a sample of 1955 municipalities, chosen randomly and proportionately by provinces and population ranges, the existence of municipal transparency portals in all autonomous regions has been analysed. For the most part, municipal transparency portals are based on developments carried out by senior administrations, whereas self-developed portals appear mainly in five autonomous regions. Main issues detected: lack of active advertising and duplication of transparency portals in some municipalities. © 2021 Association of Professionals and Researchers of Transparency.
